Grindlab amateur contest presented by TRA BMX

Press Release: Dave King and Mike Gentilcore expand Dirtsculpt, launch Trail Riders of America, and announce TRA Grindlab Jam August 3rd.Posted on July 2, 2013 by gentlicorebmx Bethlehem, PA (July 4, 2013) – It’s been a busy year for Dave King and the Dirtsculpt crew. After bringing Mike Gentilcore on board to help out on the business side of things, Dirtsculpt designed and built dirt courses for ESPN’s X-Games Brazil and Red Bull‘s Dirt Conquers in Mexico, as well as other projects across the U.S.

Mike and Dave are now launching a new events organization, TRA: Trail Riders of America. Mike explained the motivation for the new project: “It’s awesome to be a part of some of the world’s biggest BMX dirt events. Everyone we‘ve worked with has been dedicated to producing the best pro-level contests possible. At the same time, we‘ve also recognized the need to do something for the core of the sport with amateur contests and jams that every rider can be a part of. TRA is our outlet to run events independent of anything else out there and create contests for riders of all levels“.

TRA’s first event is Saturday, August 3rd at the Grindlab Indoor/Outdoor Bike & Skatepark in Camp Hill, PA. The facility features a 15,000 square foot dirt pump track with a 6 pack jump line designed and built by Dirtsculpt. The will be an all-day open jam, beginner and expert classes for both dirt and park, and cool prizes from Ion, Shadow, and Subrosa. Ion will be on-site providing camera demos and the 1st place expert dirt rider will receive a brand new Ion Air Pro HD Sport Video Camera. Redbull dirt conquers about to go off!

So we finished last night! What a relief! The amount of work we put in to this was insane! The most shovel work and shaping ever done on anything we ever built.I can't wait for the comp it's going to be insane! It was cool because Clint got to make mods.He spent days just welding.Gilly got to not only rock the shovel but also break out his carpenter skills as well on the hitching post. Thanks Alex Vasqez and Nacho for putting this thing together.check out the Redbull site for the event http://www.redbulldirtconquers.com/Here's some pics from the build enjoy

Blue mountains flow trail complete!

[youtube=http://youtu.be/6F4yq2vnCSw]So it was a crazy last two weeks! Starting the build in the snow and finishing in the warmest weather of the year so far. I'm very happy with the way everything turned out! The trail is very diverse, it starts out roller and berm, wide open, to downhill single track, rock features and finally some tech berms. It's really fun to ride at any level! Thanks to Chuck at the mountain for getting me up there! Also thanks to Chris Janis and Andy Schwartz. You killed it guys! So now the crew is off to Brazil for XGames I'll post more soon. Crazy to think that Yesterday I was riding mountain bikes and snowmobiles and now I'm going straight into summer weather!

Week one of the blue mountain build

Well week one was a lil crazy as it started off with snow! But I don't take no for an answer so I went up anyway to clear some trees.

Once the snow melted we got moving!chris Janus and I built a lot of sweet berms and rollers.to my surprise we found a lot of good dirt!not saying there's not a million rocks but found real good clay!

Well we should have the flow trail all wrapped up by Friday!heres some pics of the week
